There are two parts to most cases of heart disease. The first part is simply nutritional deficiencies. The body needs 60 minerals, 16 Vitamins, 12 Amino Acids, and 3 fatty acids every day. These are "essential", meaning the body does not make them and they must be brought into the body every day by diet and supplementation. The second aspect to heart disease is inflammation. This is caused by eating the wrong foods, like Trans fats, fried foods, nitrates, soda, etc. Listed below are the different types of heart diseases and their cause. I recommend watching my video, Foods That Harm.
Congestive heart failure: CHF is a deficiency of Thiamine (B1). Sugar must be avoided as it strips away your Thiamine stores.
Coronary Artery Disease: CAD is caused by inflammation of the inner lining of the artery. This has nothing to do with dietary cholesterol. This is caused by too many complex carbohydrates, Trans fats, fried foods, nitrates, soda, etc.
Cardiomyopathy (Athletic heart attack, SIDS): Caused by a deficiency of Selenium. This can be an issue with formula fed babies. Most baby formulas are void of selenium
Blood Clots: Caused by a deficiency of Omega 3s or a ratio issue with omega 3, 6, and 9s.
Atrial Fibrillation: A-fib is not always a heart disease. This is actually a back problem. Over time the disks of the spine begin to compress on each other and the nerve that controls the heart rhythm becomes pinched and it throws off the signal to control the heart. I would advise seeing a local Chiropractor to learn how to manage this issue.
High Cholesterol: This is caused by inflammation of the arteries and the cholesterol is actually good. It comes out to patch and repair the damaged parts of the arteries. When the doctor prescribes a statin drug, he is actually taking away your self defense mechanism. My advice is to stop eating Trans Fats and avoid all forms of sugar. Use real butter and NOT margarine. Eat 4-6 eggs per day
None of these heart issues leads back to dietary cholesterol or salt intake. The standard Physician prescribed low fat/low cholesterol, low sodium diets are not only flawed dietary science, but they can actually cause harm to patient. You must salt your food and you must ingest cholesterol and healthy fats. No matter how well you eat, it is impossible to get all the essential nutrient that you need every day. You must supplement to ensure good heart healthy. I also recommend you watch my video, Foods That Harm, and avoid these foods at all costs.
